Cliff Lodge guesthouse has a stylish sea view guest lounge with a fire place for chilly nights, an all weather sea-front conservatory and a spacious balcony overlooking the sea. The delectable breakfasts are served on the sea front deck, with its incredible view which stretches from Danger Point near Gansbaai, past the Walker Bay Nature Reserve and Hermanus all the way to Hangklip. From June to December you can enjoy some of the best whale watching in South Africa when the Southern Right Whales come for their annual visit.
Adjacent to the guesthouse is Cliff Lodge Cottage, a 3-bedroom seafront cottage which offers self-catering or bed & breakfast accommodation.
Guests of both the guesthouse and Cliff Lodge Cottage can enjoy our ocean front swimming pool, and the sandstone pool deck has comfortable loungers – the perfect place to unwind and relax.
From Cliff Lodge, enjoy a walk to the nearby secluded beach or the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, swim in the ocean or sea front pool or relax with our fantastic cappuccinos while whale watching from the deck. Cliff Lodge Cottage
The Cliff Lodge Cottage is a beautiful, well-equipped modern 3-bedroom beach house on the sea front of De Kelders, Gansbaai next door to Cliff Lodge. The cottage is fully serviced and guests have the option of self-catering or bed & breakfast.
Explore the Overberg
De Kelders is near Gansbaai, 30km from Hermanus, on the Cape South Coast, just 160km from Cape Town. The Overberg area has magnificent fynbos (wild flowers), perfect white beaches, horse riding, golf courses, wine farms and many other attractions and experiences. It is also the best place in South Africa to experience the ultimate sea safari.
Explore Walker Bay
The wild, beautiful ocean of Walker Bay offers a unique eco-experience. This truly is like the Kruger National Park of marine tourist attractions in South Africa. A variety of whales, sharks, seals, dolphins and bird and fish populations thrive in these waters. The De Kelders area offers some of the world’s best boat and shore-based whale watching in the world, and nearby Gansbaai is a good place to view and cage dive with sharks.

The restaurants and wineries of the Overberg area are family businesses, and a jovial and friendly atmosphere adds a special charm to each experience. Most of the restaurants serve a combination of meat, seafood, pasta and vegetarian dishes with a variety of fresh salads and veggies sourced from neighbouring farms. From friendly neighbourhood bistros, to fine dining restaurants, the Overberg has it all, and some excellent wines to enjoy as well.
